From the Commission's "Arts Infusion Program" - where pathways for artistic experiences are created through partnerships with the schools - to the life-long learning aspects of artistic interaction created through the Smoky Hill River Festival, and other community programs like the Spring Poetry Series and Art a la Carte Concerts, Arts Education programs create opportunities for us to interact with art, artists, and each other. |

| In 1999 significant achievements were made through the formal "Arts Infusion" partnership with schools - over 21,000 student contacts were made, working with 120 teachers and over 60 local, regional and national artists. The 1998-99 Evaluation Report states that "Everyone felt that the Program provided an opportunity for greater acceptance of the arts in everyday life, giving students a chance to succeed." Out-of-region residency artists included: Kelly and Diana Werts, folk music and dance; Rod Molzahn, 1st person Shakespeare interpretation; Linda Maxey, marimba; the piano trio of Perlman, Nikkanen and Bailey; and storyteller Priscilla Howe. | |
