“Whenever possible, artists will be utilized to review architectural drawings and site plans and make creative suggestions that would enhance the buildings’ image in the community and reinforce the purpose of the facility. Such features can be incorporated into the facility and school site without major cost ramifications or adversely affecting the project schedule. Spaces will also be designated for student artwork within the buildings. Outside spaces such as school grounds and play areas may be enhanced by utilizing creative design in plantings, fencing, walkways, etc. Artists may be utilized to work with students, staff and other community members to create identity and ownership of the new and/or renovated buildings and their surrounding areas.”
Projects feature Salina and regional artists. Each school presented a different opportunity or solution with the inclusion of an art/design project.
